NYAD STUDENT RESEARCH AWARD

The NYAD is pleased to present a $2000 award, granted annually, to each of the following dental schools: Columbia CDM, NYU CDM, Stonybrook CDM and Rutgers CDM in support of a student research project that has clinical relevance and focus. Each school may submit up to 4 research projects.

The student recipient and the faculty mentor will be required to present a poster at our February meeting. The poster will consist of an abstract of the work, which will then be published in our Annals.

The Committee will be determined prior to the first meeting of the year and will consist of six members including the former chair and the present chair, Four additional members will be appointed at the Organizational meeting of the Board.

Committee members will use the following criteria when selecting one recipient from each school.

  1. Clinical relevance
  2. Student researcher’s interest in a career in Dental Education and or Research
  3. Completion of the research project or a significant portion of the project prior to its presentation.
  4. Committee members will conclude their review of the projects by December 1st of the same year, in order to allow enough time for the recipients to prepare posters for the February meeting.

Announcement of the grant recipients will be made by December 25th.

The Chair of the Committee will prepare a written summary of the committee’s work at the yearend annual meeting.
