2013 Exemplary Professional Conduct Award
On Thursday, May 23rd, The Columbia University School of Dental Medicine held its Annual Awards Ceremony. Dr. Guy Minoli was given the privilege of representing The New York Academy of Dentistry to present The New York Academy Of Dentistry Exemplary Professional Conduct Award.
This award is presented to an exceptional senior dental student who has demonstrated outstanding ethical conduct, strong leadership qualities and the ability to uphold dignity and honor of our profession. This year the award was presented to Dr. Jaifeng Wu. Dr. Wu is a prolific author, an award winning researcher, a teaching assistant, and a Dean’s Scholar. In addition, he holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from University of Southern California and a medical degree from Shanghai Medical College.
Dr. Wu has volunteered in numerous community service programs and events including: The Harlem Dental Clinic, Give Kids a Smile Program, and The Greater New York Dental Meeting. The faculty gave him high performance reviews in scholarship, interpersonal skills, personal and professional integrity, clinical performance, patient management, and maturity.
According to Dr. Minoli, “Quite frankly, with all of these accomplishments, I was expecting to congratulate a senior citizen rather than a senior dental student! It did not surprise me that Jaifeng Wu received a myriad of other awards that evening. In the midst all of the award winners and presenters, I felt most honored to be there on behalf of The Academy.”
